This number called saying they were from Wellcare and it was about a medication. I called Wellcare back and they said they never called. This is a scam. Do not call this number back.

Caller ID said "Wellcare" and caller wanted to "assist me" by placing Rx refill orders with my pharmacy. The caller did have correct information about my medications and pharmacy, but incorrect information about the refill status of my meds, which seemed suspicious to me. I contacted Wellcare and was told that they do place calls to members to remind them when Rxs need to be refilled. My guess is that they contract with an outside company to make these calls, since Wellcare could NOT confirm that the phone number was theirs, and the refill status the caller had was months out of date. The alternative is that there's been a data breach at Wellcare and the call was a scam. Scary!

The number is for CVS Caremark. I didn't answer; they didn't leave a message. So they may be calling about a prescription or their OTC program. May be the reason Wellcare has no information on why they are calling.

Some one called saying they were from Wellcare regarding a script (I couldn't understand what she wanted about it). So I called back and they wanted my birth year. I then called Wellcare and they said there were no issues with my account.

Caller claimed to be from Wellcare and wanted my birth year to verify a drug I take. Hung up and called Welmcare directly who had no record of the call or needing any info from me.

Said they were from Welcare prescription drug plan about a drug I neeeded renewed. They had my name and the drug name and both where correct. called welcare they did not have any way to check
