I've gotten a number of calls from someone who claims to be soliciting donations to a "policemen's fund." I realize that all they want is my financial information, which I will not give to ANYONE over the phone. Today, I decided play along with them, saying that I'd be glad to send a check. The man (scammer) kept trying to ask me for "even a small donation"; I kept saying that I'd be happy to send them a check. After going back and forth like this three times, with my suggestion being the final word, the idiot said "Goodbye" and hung up on me. I called the number back, and the same man answered (with no stated affiliation ... just "hello"). THIS IS A SCAM! DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!! |
