410-501-5498 is one of the IRS scams that were so popular a couple of years ago. It seems that they are back. It's possible that the calls, although CID is spoofed for Maryland, originate in Maharashtra, India. It's the same deal as before: They call pretending to be the IRS, leave a 'case number,' and threaten your arrest if you don't call back within 24 hours. |

I just recived a call from this number saying they are the IRS and they are going to have me arrested in 24 hours if I don't call them back. I called the number and started chatting with a fellow named John Lynch, who interestingly enough had what sounded to me like an Indian accent. I asked him where he was born, and he hung up. |
